Cultural differences between countries
Building an international team and community comes with unique challenges.
One aspect that is often overlooked are cultural differences between countries. As we just know well how things are handled in our culture we might forget that the same action might have a completely different interpretation in another culture.
What might be normal in one culture might seem rude or disrespectful in the next without ever being meant this way.
Therefore it is important to understand those differences. This will help us to avoid misunderstandings and interpret the actions of others correctly.
Please help contributing to this article by communicating potential cultural differences you spotted and confirming or rejecting cultural perceptions others have about your culture.
Germany

People in Germany have the tendency not to focus on what works well (because it doesn't have to be improved anymore) but on the things that need to be improved. Here are some links that come up when googling "feedback in Germany". [1] [2] [3]
