Criteria description
Consider? - final conclusion of including the app as a candidate and continuing with future testing
Alternative usecase - other possible usecase for the app, other than the one it was tested for on this article
Affordable - decided by comparing all apps ( using most criteria, especially metrics offfered) and will determine which app is best value for money
Metrics offered - amount and importance of metrics offered by the app, with which team progress can be tracked, supervised and insights can be gained
Ease of use - Answers the question How easy is it to use the app?
Mobile - How mobile friendly is the app? Does it offer an dedicated mobile app?
Accessibility - How easy is it to get everyone on-board? If we want to share something with the community, how easy is it to do that, without giving them full member access?
Linear Integration - is it a Linear integration ( because that's the easiest way to link the app to where our team data is, meaning Linear)
Additional Comments
- Teamplify - offers a decent amount of metrics. Easy to use/
- Status Hero - here's a video on how it works. Easy to use, offers a decent amount of metrics, can put absent days, don't have to sign up to respond and can use it on mobile. $7/user/month
- Intuned - will have to check later as their website is not working. I managed to get on a link where I'm scheduling an appointment
- Daily Bot - managed to start it. Will have to invite at least 2 other people. Will have to look at more videos on how it works and what it does.
- Hypercontext - here's a presentation video. The app is too simple, it doesn't really offer any valuable information.
- Swarmia - more suited for software engineers, as you have to connect with GIthub to display stats such as how many commints were made, etc. Price is way too big anyways, at $20/user/month.
- Polymer - you can get a lot of statistics using this app, but it's a lot more manual work than most apps. We have to decide if we want to use it or if we want to have ready-made insights like Teamplify offers, without any effort.
- Yarn - extends linear functionality, as it syncs 1-1 with Linear. We could probably only use it for the team, not as a open source project management tool. It's only available on macOS, with no plans of extending support to Windows or Web. Therefore, we aren't considering using it as of now.
