Australia

August 15, 2023: Sixt Australia EV fleet rose by 647% year-over-year in H1 versus growth of 325% in the previous year. The fleet includes six battery EVs including BYD Atto 3, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq EV, Hyundai Kona EV, and BMW ix3. Sixt aims to have 50% of its Australian corporate fleet of 8,500 vehicles as EVs. A daily rental fee of $90 makes its EVs cheaper than renting an internal combustion engine (ICE) car. Sixt plans to double its Australian fleet in the next 12 months in an effort to meet its 2027 target. Already, it has established the largest EV fleet in every state and territory other than the Northern. Its partnership with EVSE will see installation of level 2 AC chargers across its 17 sites[1].
