April 27, 2023:  A fine proceeding has been opened by the Federal Network Agency against 1&1 for failing to meet its 1,000 antenna sites obligations at the end of 2022. According to a January letter by the authority, up to 50,000 euros fines per location was being considered but it is assumed that the fine will be lower. The proceeding gives 1&1 the opportunity to comment and the more valid the arguments the lesser the fines. 1&1 spokesperson said the proceeding came as a no surprise while adding that  "1&1 will take a stand against the authority as part of the hearing<ref>https://www.finanzen.net/nachricht/aktien/maengel-festgestellt-1-1-aktie-unter-druck-bussgeldverfahren-gegen-1-1-eingeleitet-12394793</ref>.
