Branding
This is the open sourced branding discussion for InvestmentWiki.org. More on Google Sheets
Please add your thoughts.
Naming
- What do you think about the naming InvestmentWiki?
- Are there any arguments for or against it?
- Do you have other ideas?
- I am thinking about renaming the Discord Community InvestmentWiki as well at some point. Thoughts?
- The community would be called "InvestmentWiki Community" and the Forum "InvestmentWiki Forum"
- If you like InvestmentWiki do you prefer it being spelled with a capital W or Investmentwiki?

- open source investment community
- the central place for investing
- Find (investment) opportunities together
Further Slogans/Formulations

- In depth investment analysis
Logo
First examples of Logos directions.
All logos need coloring & simplification
- A knowledge tree stands both for knowledge and is reflective of the Wiki that goes into increasing branches of depth. Seems ancient. [1]
- A philosophical logo stands for the pursuit of "truth" in investment research. It is the investment researchers task to filter among a multitude of informations which ones are the correct ones and how the future will most likely develop. [2]
- A very classical symbol of knowledge [3]
- A continuous building logo like Wikipedias signals collaboration and improvement. We could replace the different language letters with company and macro symbols. [4]
- A blend between modern and classic. [5]
- A rising stock graph is very close to what people associate with us. [6] [7]
- A honey bee (which is "collecting" goods) [10]

Moodboard for landing page
Building a landing page is currently not high priority, but it could help us conveying what we are building more clearly.
I currently favor open, wide & white, clean & clear designs like and love how ethereum underlines the community character.
I've also been a fan of the school of athens by raphael and wonder if we can use a modern variant of it.
The full list of websites i added to the moodboard for various reasons is on google sheets. Feel free to add your suggestions.
Tonality/"Look and feel"
I'd like to create a blend between the classical aspects of traditional investment research (Search for truth, investment principles) and the modern aspects of daos, technologies, communities.
Other components might be: Clear, precise, numbers based, minimalist.
Colors e.g. Logo black?
Community description
- We build the world's first open source investment community around principle based investment models.
- Rejected: We build the largest community of passionate and professional researchers around high quality research.
Vision
The Vision is an ideal outcome a picture of the future that we want to build towards to. (Aka "The Wikipedia of Investing") It should be a broad umbrella which encompasses our goals.
Old: Our Vision is to accelerate innovation and productivity by establishing the Wikipedia of Investing.
New: Our Vision is to help create a world in which increased capital efficiency leads to more innovation, productivity and sustained change.
Mission
The Mission is our journey and the "how" we are arriving at this future (Aka "by organizing investment informations and building realistic investment models)
The way those informations are currently displayed on the main page is likely not clear and needs to be simplified. (Aka need to study how others like Ethereum are doing it)
Old: Our Mission is to organize the worlds investment informations and build principle based investment models that reflect reality well.
New: Our Mission is to build the world's first open source investment community around principle based investment models.
NewNew: The description from above: "We build the world's first open source investment community around principle based investment models." sounds good as the mission statement.
