Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Available on Android, IOS, Web and Email.
  • Easy to use
  • Web interface is very similar to the smartphone one.
    Good interface

Cons

  • Web notifications not working
  • IOS notifications stop working sometimes, but updating the feed's link seems to solve the problem

Testing

Extensions

NewsBlur has 2 extensions on the Chrome Web Store which are related to web notifications.

  • First one is here and it's called Unofficial NewsBlur Reader. It will ask you to connect to NewsBlur, but even after logging in it will still not work, so we can easily take it out from the list.
  • Second one is here and it's called Newsblur Notifier Plus. All it does is display the number of unread notifications on NewsBlur, and if you click on it NewsBlur's website will open up. Don't really recommend it because it does not have any pop-up notifications.
